About Nada

Nada practices as a professional with interest and expertise in mental health, anti-racism/anti-oppression, diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging ( DEI&B), wellness, and alternative dispute resolution. She is a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Trained Family Mediator, and Consultant in private practice. 

Nada earned her Masters in Social Work (M.S.W) from York University School of Social Work and a Honors Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.  Additionally, Nada earned her Family Mediation Certificate from Herzing College in Toronto, Ontario and completed a Family Mediation Practicum at Family Mediation Practicum Ontario in Toronto, Canada. 

 

She is also a EMDR Trained Therapist and received her certification from the Institute for Creative Mindfulness in Ohio, the United States. Additionally, Nada is a 

Certified Racial Trauma & Brainspotting Clinician. 


She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and member of Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM). She is also a member of the Sexual Violence Committee for Faculty/Staff Awareness & Prevention Working Group at Humber College. She was a Director at large for Unison Health and Community Services, a non-profit organization in Toronto focused on increasing access and improving outcomes for all clients, including  people living with mental health and addictions.  

 

Nada has worked in the areas of mental health, domestic and sexual violence, diversity, equity and inclusion & belonging, anti-Black racism, counselling & psychotherapy, mediation, training and program evaluation, research, and social work at several agencies including Dalhousie University, Humber College, The Yonge Street Mission, The Children's Aid Society of Toronto, Nada Johnson Centre for Development & Consulting and York University. 

Nada has provided consultation and training services to many organizations in the area of alternative dispute resolutions, diversity, equity and inclusion, anti-Black racism, workplace racial trauma and well-being, anti-racism and anti-oppression including the University of Toronto, George Hull Centre for Children and Families, Soroptimist International of Toronto, Human Resources Professionals Association, Shakespeare in Action and the Ontario Association of Social Workers
