Confidentiality

Confidentiality is very important in therapy. Building trust with me, your therapist, requires that whatever you share with me remains with me in confidence.

There are however four limits to confidentiality where I must report to the appropriate authorities if you share the following:

  • If you share with me that you are going to hurt yourself.

  • If you share with me that you are going to hurt someone else.

  • If you share with me that a child is experiencing abuse.

  • If you share with me that you have been abused by a licensed professional.

Also, if you are involved in a court case, it could be the case that I must legally provide my therapy notes if  I am subpoenaed.
