March 21: Recognizing the Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Today, March 21, 2025, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This is a day that calls on all of us to reflect, take action, and stand united against racism in all its forms.

...
...

At its core, this day is a reminder that every individual deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive, regardless of race, ethnicity, or cultural background. As we observe this important day, we recommit ourselves to building a society rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion in Ontario, across Canada, and around the world.

Mental Health Support for Black and Racialized Women

At Nada Johnson Consulting & Counselling Services (NJCCS), we understand that racism and discrimination take a deep emotional toll on Black and racialized women. These lived experiences can impact confidence, self-worth, and mental well-being in lasting ways.

That's why we offer specialized racial trauma counselling services led by Nada Johnson (She/Her) – MSW, RSW, who provides a safe, affirming space where women can share their stories, heal, and reclaim their voices. Whether facing systemic injustice, workplace discrimination, or generational trauma, clients are supported with compassion, cultural awareness, and trauma-informed care.

Empowering Women, Strengthening Communities

Healing from racial trauma is not just important, it’s essential for the strength of our families, communities, and workplaces. When women are supported in their healing journeys, they contribute confidently to society, uplift others, and drive meaningful change. Therapy equips them with tools to cope, grow, and lead, building resilience that ripples outward into the community.

Our Ongoing Commitment

At NJCCS, we are deeply committed to advancing racial justice and creating safe, empowering spaces where all women feel seen, heard, and supported. We believe that dismantling racism is a shared responsibility, and that providing trauma-informed mental health support is one of the most meaningful ways to drive lasting change.

Let’s continue this work—not just today, but every day.
