Mental Health Matters at Work

Who should attend?

All employees within the corporation. This workshop is designed to provide Directors, Managers and Supervisors with the opportunity to increase their understanding and awareness of mental health and its potential occurrence and impact in their place of employment. Further, this workshop will help to challenge potential stereotypes of mental health, well-being, and mental illness and explore how Directors, Managers and Supervisors could support and engage with employees struggling in the workplace.

What will you learn?

  • You will learn more about the specific role and responsibilities of a Director, Manager or Supervisor associated with mental health as defined by relevant legislations

  • You will be provided with a comprehensive list of the relevant legislations to supervision and management of mental health in the workplace 

  • You will be provided with a description of The National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace

  • You will learn how to identify indicators of a potential mental health issue

  • Specific strategies and actions for responding to potential mental health issues will be provided

  • A specific framework and two tools will be provided on how to have difficult but important conversations with colleagues about mental health issues

  • Develop and describe strategies and practices to support and enhance mental health in your organization
